While version 4 will run on many modern operating systems, (Windows 98SE, Windows 2000, Windows XP SP2 and the many versions of Windows Vista), it is supported by Whelen Engineering only for those customers using Windows 2000.

Version 5 of WeCad Designer offers many new, including file association, and upcoming features not found in Version 4. These features rely upon modern components currently found only in Windows XP SP2 and the many versions of Windows Vista.  Therefore, Version 5 of WeCan programmer is designed to run on those operating systems only.
