Time is Running Out: 2024 Whelen Everyday Champion Nominations Closing Soon
With the September 6th deadline fast approaching, time is quickly running out to nominate a deserving individual or team for the 2024 Whelen Everyday Champion Award. This annual program, which has been accepting nominations since June 3, 2024, celebrates acts of bravery, exceptional valor, and unwavering community service.
Our Everyday Champion program recognizes the remarkable contributions of first responders and emergency service professionals. Whether it’s a daring rescue, an act of exceptional courage, or tireless efforts to enhance community safety, we’re proud to shine a spotlight on those who go above and beyond. In past years, we’ve celebrated police officers, firefighters, paramedicine teams, and even a tow truck driver who made a daring rescue while returning from a call. Last year’s Everyday Champion, Sandy Voss of Clinton, Connecticut, is a member of her local volunteer fire department and, for nearly forty years, has been a dedicated community service organizer, committing countless hours and resources to fundraising and outreach events. See Sandy’s inspiring story HERE.
“The Everyday Champion program perfectly aligns with our mission to support and protect those who protect others,” says Whelen CEO Geoff Marsh. “It allows us to acknowledge and appreciate the profound impact these individuals and teams have on our communities through their unwavering commitment to public safety and the greater good.”
The Everyday Champion winner will be honored in a special ceremony and receive an award of distinction in the Whelen Hall of Champions, an exhibit in the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, North Carolina. Watch our video for a special tour of the exhibit and further details about the program!
