ECR Engines Powers Action Express Racing’s No. 31 Whelen Engineering Cadillac Team to 2021 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship
WELCOME, NC (November 16, 2021) – ECR Engines closed out the 2021 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season on Saturday in the Motul Petit Le Mans by clinching the DPi Manufacturer Championship with Action Express Racing and Whelen Engineering. The title marks ECR’s seventh DPi title.
The high-performance engine production, research and development company at the Richard Childress Racing facility in Welcome, North Carolina, currently produces engines used in all of the Cadillac DPi-V.R. Prototype race cars competing in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship series, including the No. 31 Cadillac driven by Felipe Nasr and Pipo Derani on Saturday.

The title battle came down to the last corner of the final lap when Action Express Racing’s Nasr successfully staved off an attempt by eventual third-place finisher Ricky Taylor.
ECR Engines Returns to the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in 2022 with the 60th Rolex 24 at the Daytona International Speedway Road Course Jan. 29-30.
